1955 Marx, Friction Powered Sportster Convertible in Original Box
Huge 20" lithographed tin friction powered Sportster Convertible by Louis Marx & Co. Store stock never removed from original box. Dazzling surfaces with intricately detailed 1950's styling. Complete with all original parts including windshield. Also complete with beautifully illustrated original box. Features embossed grille, raised front and rear quarter panels, embossed side molding, pleated double bench seat interior, fully detailed dashboard, 1½" diameter metal steering wheel, clear transparent windshield, solid plate chassis, rubber tires, and loud friction noise motor. Only two pieces of metal make up the entire body; top half and chassis plate. For safety the cut metal edges of the body were folded under the edges of the chassis to provide a smooth interface. Awesome box shows different portrait illustrations of the vehicle with a cityscape in the background. Three different drawings were used. AND the box is complete with all six original endflaps.
